The Wagner at Duck Creek
The Wagner at Duck Creek offers exquisite indoor and outdoor settings. Experience an outdoor ceremony on the Savannah Deck or Captain’s Lawn, before moving into the Sail Loft or Outdoor tent for the reception. Or exchange vows with your toes in the sand before making your way to a beautifully decorated tent.
THE BACK NINE
This is the open area used for overflow parking on the rear of the property. This tranquil space is flanked by trees and wooded areas. It is landscaped and set away from most of the dwelling space. The area can accommodate large tents for a variety of outdoor events in size and composition. Seating for up to 300 guests. Site Fee: $3,800 (tables, chairs, linen, and tabletop not included).
THE SAVANNAH DECK
The deck flanking the rear of the Captain’s House is illustrative of what one would imagine in the architecture in the large manses in the Deep South. The deck itself is conducive to small gatherings and wedding ceremonies up to 50 guests; but, it also overlooks space at the rear of the property and the proximate Hawes Pond. Many memories have been captured underneath the balcony of this historic deck. Seating accommodation for up to 50; Standing accommodation up to 60 (on the deck);. Site Fee: $1,500 (table,chair & tabletop rental available).
CAPTAIN’S HOUSE STERN
The front of the Captain’s House, facing the saltwater marsh, is a beautiful venue for outdoor events. With the architecture of the Captain’s House and the influence of beauty benefited by nature, this space affords many benefits for events which small to moderate in size. Seating accommodation for up to 50 for ceremony, reception, or large group events. Site Fee: $1,500
Hawes pond, offering the birth of water on the property, offers a serene venue tucked in behind the restaurant and banquet facility. The pond expands and contracts with tides and precipitation but typically allows enough expanse for a pond-side ceremony or reception. Seating or standing accommodation for up to 25-100 +/- (larger groups in 2017) for ceremony or reception events. Site Fee: $1,000
THE SAIL LOFT
A private indoor dining space that overlooks Hawes Pond, the Sail Loft room offers an intimate setting from morning to night. Seating accommodation for up to 80; Standing accommodation for up to 100. Site Fee: $2,800 (includes tables, chairs, & tabletop).
THE WELL TAVERN + KITCHEN
Our on-site Iconic Tavern or Sail Loft Cafe is the perfect spot for send-off brunch, wedding after-parties, and functions during our off-season (Oct-May). Seating for 90; Standing 120 If more than one location is used during your stay we can combine and create a package price.
The Wagner at Duck Creek offers exclusive on-site Catering from The Well Tavern + Kitchen Catering. For your wedding, our Event Manager will work closely with you to create the perfect menu that reflects your taste and amuses your palate. From delectable hors-d’oeuvres and raw bar to begin the evening to four-course plated dinners and handcrafted buffets, you choose what flavors you want to taste and how you want the food presented. The Wagner at Duck Creek is fully licensed by the state of Massachusetts for sale and service of wine, beer, and spirits. Any alcoholic beverage consumed at an event must be purchased through and served by The Wagner Duck Creek or The Well Kitchen Catering and may not be removed from the property. Our staff must check the identification of any guest and under no circumstance will they serve underage or intoxicated persons. We also reserve the right to withhold service at any time in in the sole judgment of the Hotel, staff/ownership such action is warranted. All wine/beer, cocktails determinations, and any special label liquor selections must be made 30 days prior to the event and only liquor available through a licensed Massachusetts distributor are allowed. Liquor can be priced by consumption or per-person package rate by 2.5 – 5hrs.
Our on-site entertainment license states all music and amplified noise end at 12:00 am. Wellfleet Police will respond to any noise complaint and The Wagner at Duck Creek and The Well Tavern will need to adhere to any and all requests to turn the music down, off or move inside.
For indoor events of 25 guests or fewer, the inn includes the use of our banquet tables, chairs, linens, tabletop/dishware, flatware and glassware in the space fee. ADMINISTRATION FEE & TAXES
An administration fee equal to 12% of the total food and beverage costs will be added to the invoice at the end of the event. The Admin Fee does not include gratuity, it covers the cost of the Event Manager, Operations and all administrative costs. Massachusetts 7% meal & liquor apply to all purchased goods and services.
The Wagner at Duck Creek is unique in its offering of 27-guest rooms, accommodating up to 62 people, in the three (3) buildings which comprise the boutique hotel. We offer a variety of rooms and suites in the Captain’s, Cottage and Carriage House.
ROOM BLOCKS/EVENT MINIMUMS
If we are hosting a significant event onsite for you with a minimum food and beverage allowance of $12,000 (peak season) and $6,000 (off-peak) we can arrange a room block for your guests. Room blocks are set once your non-refundable deposit is made and allows guests 10% off their room reservation. We do not block rooms for off-site events/functions.
MANNER OF PAYMENT AND GUARANTEE
To reserve your event date- a Non-refundable deposit of your Event Space Fee (credit card or check)
50 % of Event Cost is due (6) Months Before Event (check)
30 days before Event Final Guest Count is due and cannot be lowered after this time (check)
21 days from Event final payment is due. Payments and deposits are non-refundable. (check)

Credit cards are accepted only for the first deposit as well as for incidental charges of last-minute charges i.e. bar, rental, any extra labor, actual guest count exceeding the guaranteed amount, etc. These charges will be paid upon the event commencement using the credit card authorization form we have on file. Personal checks are accepted for all payments except the final balance, which should be a bank or certified check.
In order to ensure complete privacy and readiness for your event, our indoor/outdoor facilities will not be available for early arrivals. The bride, groom and bridal party can arrive up to 90 minutes before your event to take pictures when having your ceremony on site. Decorations and event design schedule can be discussed and agreed upon with Event Manager.
Rehearsal time is available depending on the events scheduled and must be coordinated in advance with our Event Manager. If you need coordination for your rehearsal from our Event Manager to guide you through the rehearsal and use of the facility there is a $50/hour charge for their time.
The menu selection is three (3)- (6) months before your event.
No food or beverage can be brought on or off the property. The only exception is the wedding cake. All incoming cakes shall come from licensed bakeries. We do charge a cake-cutting fee of all outside cakes and desserts $2.00 per guest.
Children must be supervised at all times. Children under ten (10) may receive a special children’s menu at a reduced cost.
A guaranteed guest count and seating plan are due (20) days prior to your event for all plated and RSVP menu selections.
The performance of this agreement is subject to acts of God, governmental authority, disaster, strikes or other emergencies, any of which make it illegal or impossible to provide the facilities and/or services for your event. In the event of any of these scenarios, if possible The Wagner at Duck Creek will do it’s best to perform the agreement or in extreme cases choose a different date or venue to provide the service. This can include power outages, and the results of such power outages can cause a lack of air conditioning or non-optimum occurrences.
